MES vendors

Very wide-ranging market with a high number of vendors with local focus. The danger here is getting crushed between the major industry based IIoT platforms and new emerging 4.0 startup companies and disruptors.

Strong industrial manufacturing expertise but very heterogeneous and often stuck in pilot projects.

Platform Hyperscaler

Almost uncatchable in the world of cloud-based computing space however there are still gaps in shop floor connectivity and manufacturing solutions but they are working to bridge these gaps.

IIoT Apps (e.g. AI / ML)

High potential for disrupting existing markets and squeezing out established application providers (ERP, MES, …). These may be the best fit for filling platform hyperscaler gaps but it will be difficult to determine the best solution in this very dynamic and untransparent market. “Pick the best – forget the rest“ is not possible in this high dynamic early adopter scene.
